Snapchat Imagine Lens: Create AI Photos From Prompts

Snapchat has used AI for filters before, but now the app has a new feature called Imagine Lens. Using this feature, you can type any prompt you like, and the lens will change your photos based on your prompt. For example, for a selfie you type, “make me a jellyfish superhero” and Snapchat will create it for you.

This feature is currently available only for Snapchat+ Platinum and Lens+ subscribers on iOS. This is the first open-prompt AI image generator on Snapchat Lens. Unlike the older Lenses that come pre-made, this tool lets you generate pictures according to your prompt. The image can be shared to your Story, saved to your phone, or sent to friends just like previous ones. However, you can’t use this tool for video.

What makes Imagine Lens stand out is its speed and simplicity. You don’t need a separate app. Just open Snapchat’s camera, swipe to Imagine Lens, and type your idea into the caption bar. If you don’t know what to write, Snapchat also offers ready-made suggestions like “make me into a comic strip,” “turn me into a Renaissance statue,” or “create a goofy caricature.”
